Self-care is important. It is simple. It doesn’t demand expensive outfits nor extreme workouts. Sometimes, it only requires BREATHING.
Finding time to breathe is funny because we do that all the time, right? But, why do self-care requires BREATHING, are we not breathing enough? LOL! But you know what, sometimes, the answer to this question is YES.
When I started YOGA, it introduced me to BREATHING. I did not realize that I was not breathing enough until the routines and my favorite Yogis (SaraBeth and Adriene) emphasized that we need to inhale deeper and exhale more.
You try it, it’s relaxing. It calms me in many ways.
Honestly, when I was starting the journey, it did not feel so relaxing that time. I hate it. It’s so cringe and I hate listening to the Yogis. But I pushed and forced myself to get used to the talks, to the music, to the moves. It didn’t happen smoothly. I always have in mind that workouts are better than YOGA.
But when I was doing it almost everyday and associate it in my routine, I noticed improvements to my body, especially on its flexibility. Above all, I noticed that I am breathing ENOUGH already.
Whenever I am tired and stressed, I breathe. Whenever I am anxious, I pray and I breathe.
This is me BREATHING. This is my self-care.
